How To Apply For A Kenyan NTSA Smart Driving License

This article offers instructions on how to rapidly apply for and receive a Kenyan NTSA smart driving license through the TIMS Online site. The new generation driving license is the name given to the document in most contexts.

What Is A Smart Driving License?

A type of license that is tech-ready is a smart driving license. It includes a chip with information about the driver, such as the number of accidents they’ve been in, how long they’ve been driving, what they drive, etc. It takes the place of our previous, outdated driver’s license. Kenya’s National Transport and Safety Board introduced it (NTSA)

Make copies of the following information, including your ID number, phone number, KRA PIN, and Ksh 3100 in your mpesa, before starting the application process for a smart driving license in Kenya. Follow the steps outlined below;

  1. Go to the NTSA Tims portal sign in page or create an account if you don’t already have one. If the login information for your account is incorrect Visit the NTSA Likoni Office; we recommend it because it is not crowded. It is situated at Nairobi’s Likoni Road.)
  2. On the login page, enter the username and password you chose when you created your account, along with your ID number.
  3. Press “Get Code”
  4. Your phone will receive a verification code. After entering the code, click “sign in.”
  5. Select the Tab for Driving License
  6. Select Smart DL Application. Click the next button at the bottom of the page if all of your information is accurate.
  7. Push the Pay button.
  8. The payment page will be redirected to you. Choose a payment method, make a payment, and press the “Complete” button.
  9. You will be taken to a page with your invoice after clicking the complete button. To obtain a PDF of the invoice for security and reference, click the print button, then click save.
  10. Return to the website and click the Submit button after downloading.
  11. Choose the site where your biometrics will be collected, and reserve the date. Red indicates that the booking time is unavailable on that date, whereas green shows that the booking time is available.)

The application process is complete. You can always change the reservation time. If you didn’t grasp the process above, there is a video that demonstrates how to apply below.

You must make an appointment with NTSA to obtain a smart license in order to avoid long lines. When the time or day of your appointment is prepared, an SMS will be sent to you. Simply log into your account and select Smart DL appointment to make an appointment.

How Long  Does It Take To Get Smart Driving License

Your smart driving license will be delivered to you in around 3 weeks after your biometrics have been collected. However, as technologies advance, the waiting time ought to have been greatly shortened (this waiting period is based on the day this post was published).

Where To Find Solutions For NTSA TIMS Activation Or Login Problems (Step 2)

Go to Counter 7 at the Upperhill NTSA Headquarters to get help with TIMS concerns. Keep a copy of your ID, your ID, and your KRA pin with you at all times so that you can activate your account. If the details are fine, move on to the stage above.

There are big lines there, so be sure to bring some food (money).

Errors With NTSA Tims Login And Solutions (Step 3)
