Simba Chai Sacco was established on 17th May 1977 the accounts personnel of Unilever Tea Kenya Limited. The Sacco was registered as Kericho Hesabu and it only had 35 members. In 2008 the Sacco delegates passed a resolution to change the name of the Sacco to Simba Chai Sacco.
